About Us

Commonspace Collective brings commonspaces to life — we produce pop-up events and workshops for luxury residential communities, corporate teams, and private clients across Chicago. Our collective is made up of creative, hardworking people who love what they do, and we take the details seriously so our clients don't have to.

The Role

This one's for the people people. If you light up in a room full of strangers, love being in the middle of the action, and get genuine satisfaction from making someone's night — keep reading.

As Onsite Event Staff, you're the face of the experience. You'll work directly with guests, support the Event Lead, and help make sure every detail lands the way it's supposed to. No two events look the same — one week it's a rooftop mixology night, the next it's a wellness pop-up or a private celebration. You'll need to be adaptable, present, and genuinely warm with people.

Evenings and weekends are the job. Come ready to move.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Greeting guests and keeping the energy up throughout the event — this is not a stand-in-the-corner role

  • Serving as a go-to point of contact for clients and guests onsite

  • Supporting setup and teardown — arranging decor, styling spaces, loading in and out

  • Coordinating vendor check-ins alongside the Event Lead

  • Bartending when needed (we'll cover your BASSET certification)

  • Capturing photos and video content to help tell the story of each event

  • Troubleshooting on the fly and flagging anything that needs attention

Your Magic

  • You're genuinely outgoing — not just "friendly at work" but the kind of person who makes guests feel welcome the moment they walk in

  • Calm under pressure and quick on your feet when things shift

  • An eye for detail and design — you notice when something's off and you fix it

  • Social media savvy and comfortable capturing content in the moment

  • A self-starter who shows up prepared and doesn't need to be told twice

  • Able to lift up to 30 lbs and comfortable with physical setup work

Requirements

  • Must be 18+

  • Flexible availability for evenings and weekends

  • Previous event or hospitality experience a plus

  • Driver's license helpful but not required

Compensation

  • $20/hour (most events average around $100; typically 2–3 events per week)
