About Us

Commonspace Collective brings commonspaces to life — we produce pop-up events and workshops for luxury residential communities, corporate teams, and private clients across Chicago. Our collective is made up of creative, hardworking people who love what they do, and we take the details seriously so our clients don't have to.

The Role

As an Event Lead, you're the person on the ground making it all happen. You own the onsite experience from load-in to last guest out — managing staff, coordinating vendors, keeping clients confident, and troubleshooting whatever comes your way. You know how to read a room, stay calm under pressure, and bring out the best in the people around you.

This is a contractor role with evening and weekend availability required.

What You'll Be Doing:

Onsite Event Execution

  • Serve as the primary onsite contact for clients, ensuring the event vision is executed from start to finish

  • Oversee setup, execution, and teardown — keeping everything on timeline and on-brand

  • Coordinate with vendors onsite, managing any issues that come up in real time

  • Troubleshoot challenges as they arise with a calm, solutions-first approach

Client & Team Communication

  • Collaborate with the Event Manager ahead of each event to fully understand the look, feel, and goals

  • Provide real-time updates to clients so they can actually enjoy their own event

  • Lead and support onsite staff, setting the tone for a professional and positive guest experience

Post-Event

  • Submit event recaps to the Owners and Operations Sr. Manager including wins, challenges, and opportunities

  • Capture event highlights for social and marketing purposes when applicable

Your Magic

  • 5+ years of event management or onsite event execution experience

  • A natural with clients — you build trust quickly and communicate with ease

  • Strong organizational instincts; you can manage moving pieces without losing the details

  • An eye for design and the ability to ensure the aesthetic vision lands in real life

  • A steady presence in fast-paced environments — you don't rattle easily

  • Experience leading onsite teams and getting the best out of the people around you

Requirements

  • Flexible availability for evenings and weekends

  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs when needed

  • Valid driver's license a plus

Compensation

  • $25–30/hour, commensurate with experience
